Sophronia, a rebellious fourteen-year-old, is the source of endless frustration for her mother. Instead of focusing on proper etiquette and ladylike behavior, Sophronia prefers to tinker with clocks and climb trees. Her mother is desperate for her to become a refined young lady and enrolls her in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality. However, little do they know that this is no ordinary finishing school. While Mademoiselle Geraldine's does indeed teach its students the traditional skills of dance, fashion, and manners, it also specializes in a different kind of finishing. The academy trains its students in the arts of death, deception, espionage, and modern weaponry. Sophronia and her friends are in for an eventful first year at this unique school.
